Biography

Zach is a fifth-generation Montana native, born and raised in Billings. He attended Montana State University, graduating summa cum laude. He earned his law degree from the University of Montana School of Law, where he served on the Public Lands & Resources Law Review and assisted tribes with complex civil litigation through the Margery Hunter Brown Indian Law Clinic. He clerked for the Hon. Kurt Krueger of the Montana 2nd Judicial District, where he served as special master and aided the court in settling cases. He has authored legal scholarship on federal Indian law and local government powers under the Montana Constitution.

Prior to entering the law, he assisted small businesses and non-profits with marketing and business development, and volunteered with a housing non-profit, where he conducted research and developed policy proposals to address the growing housing crisis.

Zach is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in Montana, and works on a variety of civil litigation matters. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and nursing a hobby playing jazz and blues.
